AHSOKA Part 7 "Dreams and Madness" | NYSQ Breakdown & Review

We've almost reached the end of the first season of Ahsoka and wow do your Fellow Nerds have A LOT to talk about!

The ongoing theme for us seemed to be, "that wasn't what we expected" but overall, still really good and arguably some of the BEST Star Wars we've seen.  This latest episode of the Disney Plus series felt like it was moving all the important chess pieces around the board but overall seemed cut short.  It existed to set up the finale and other than a few fun scenes like having our old pal C3PO (Anthony Daniels) show up as a representative of Leah (thank you for sparing us from any sort of digital CGI Zombie of Carrie Fisher) and a recording of Anakin (Hayden Christensen), it didn't do much else for the story.  While that's not necessarily a bad thing, the episode really needed more substance.

AHSOKA Part 6 "Far, Far Away" | NYSQ Breakdown & Review

 On Tuesday we wear orange and watch Ahsoka!!!  (EPISODE 6 SPOILERS)

Well Fellow Nerds, that was another OUTSTANDING episode of Ahsoka. As always, spoilers ahead.

Part 6 of Ahsoka finally delivers answers regarding the long-awaited return of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) as well as the continued search for Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi).
The episode opens with Ahsoka’s (Rosario Dawson) sole appearance in the episode, as she and Huyang (David Tennant) continue Purrgiling their way to Peridea.  Huyang regales us with a story that took place A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

As we discover, the purrgil from the final episode of Rebels, delivered Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger to Peridea, the planet where they go to die, an eerie site where its rings are revealed to be the skeletons of countless star whales. This is also the original home of the Nightsisters before they arrived on Dathomir.

Mikkelson voiced Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels and the actor seamlessly steps back into the role of a villain who always sees the big picture. He never underestimated the Rebels crew and views Sabine as a last chance to actually kill Ezra, though he won’t overextend his weakened forces on petty revenge if it endangers his greater goal of escaping exile.  He even states that he's willing to leave Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) and his apprentice Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno) behind if they in any way interfere with him leaving the new galaxy.

Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 News - NYSQ Breakdown

Star Wars Celebration 2023 has come and gone, but we are talking all the news from it. We breakdown the Ahsoka and Jedi Survivor trailers too so grana drink and a snack because we talk for a bit! 

Star Wars Celebration is a large fan convention held to celebrate the Star Wars franchise. The event is usually held annually (except for years where there is a D23 expo) in varying locations around the world, and commonly features a host of Star Wars project announcements, panel discussions featuring actors, producers and writers, screenings, exhibits, cosplay and merchandise sales. It began in 1999, when Lucasfilm held the first Star Wars Celebration in Denver, Colorado to celebrate the upcoming release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

NYSQ InFocus Star Wars: The Inquisitors

Do you need to know a little bit more about the Inquisitors? Well you came to the right place since this video is all about the Jedi hunters known as the Inquisitors! 

 

The Inquisitorius, also known as the Inquisitorius Program, the Order of Inquisitors, and the Imperial Inquisition, was an organization of mysterious, Force-sensitive dark side agents who served the Sith-ruled Galactic Empire. Members of the Inquisitorius were called Imperial Inquisitors, or simply Inquisitors, and were also nicknamed "Red Blades." They were tasked with hunting down the remaining Jedi who had survived Order 66 at the end of the Clone Wars as part of the Great Jedi Purge, as well as other political dissidents, and retrieving any children identified as Force-sensitive. The Inquisitors were governed by the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who was the apprentice to the Galactic Emperor, Sheev Palpatine, and led by an individual known only by his title, the Grand Inquisitor.

 

In the years leading up to the Galactic Civil War, the Inquisitors came into conflict with several Jedi and groups affiliated with surviving or former Jedi as part of the purge. One of these groups were the Spectres, a rebel cell that included the Jedi Purge survivor Kanan Jarrus and his Padawan, Ezra Bridger. Their pursuit of the Spectres also brought them into contact with another Jedi Purge survivor, the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano, as well as the former Sith Lord Maul, who sought revenge against the Sith for casting him out and killing his brother and mother. When the Empire believed the Jedi Order to be largely extinct by the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Inquisitorius were said to have vanished.

Chapter 12: The Siege

 

The Razor Crest requires further repairs before it can reach Corvus, so the Mandalorian and the child take a detour to Nevarro where they are re-united with their allies Cara Dune and Greef Karga. While the Razor Crest is being repaired, the Mandalorian is shown how much things have improved on Nevarro since he was last there, under the stewardship of Karga as magistrate and Dune as marshal. The last challenge that they are facing is a remaining Imperial base on the planet, and the Mandalorian agrees to help them destroy it. Inside the base they discover that it has been used for so-far unsuccessful experimentation on the child's blood, which has a high M-count. They destroy the base and escape pursued by stormtroopers on speeder bikes and TIE fighters. Dune and Karga manage to stop the speeder bikes while the Mandalorian destroys the TIE fighters with the repaired Razor Crest. The Mandalorian and the child leave for Corvus, unaware that an Imperial spy has planted a tracker on the Razor Crest for Moff Gideon.

 

 Chapter 13: The Jedi

 

The Mandalorian and the child arrive at the city of Calodan on the planet Corvus to find the population living in fear of the city's magistrate, Morgan Elsbeth, and her guards, including a hired mercenary named Lang. Elsbeth offers to give the Mandalorian a spear of Beskar steel in exchange for killing Ahsoka. The Mandalorian finds Ahsoka outside the town and presents the child to her. Using The Force, Ahsoka determines that the child's name is Grogu, and that he had begun training as a Jedi before the rise of the Empire. She agrees to continue his training if the Mandalorian helps defeat Elsbeth. They overpower the guards, free the citizens, and the Mandalorian kills Lang. Ahsoka confronts Elsbeth, and demands to know the whereabouts of her master, Grand Admiral Thrawn. Afterwards, Ahsoka refuses to train Grogu due to his close attachment to the Mandalorian.
