Avatar the Last Airbender Episode 3 and 12 Breakdown and Review

Episode 3 The Southern Air Temple

Aang is eager to return to his home, the Southern Air Temple, though Katara worries that evidence of the Fire Nation's assault on it may upset him. He shows Katara and Sokka around the now-deserted temple, reminiscing about his mentor, Monk Gyatso. While playfully chasing a flying lemur, Aang discovers Gyatso's skeleton, surrounded by Fire Nation helmets. He enters the Avatar State in his grief. Once Katara and Sokka calm him down, he realizes that he is the last surviving airbender. As they leave the temple, they adopt the lemur as a pet, naming him Momo. Meanwhile, Zuko stops to make repairs to his ship and is greeted by Zhao, a commander in the Fire Nation navy. Zuko tries to hide that he has seen the Avatar, but Zhao discovers the truth and takes on the task of capturing the Avatar himself, deeming Zuko a failure. Zuko refuses to accept this, as capturing the Avatar is the only way he can return from his banishment from the Fire Nation. Tensions rise between the two, so they challenge each other to a firebending duel (known as an Agni Kai). Zuko wins the duel, but spares Zhao.

Episode 12 The Storm

Sokka is hired to assist a fisherman. The fisherman calls Aang "the Avatar who turned his back on the world". Guiltily, Aang reveals to Katara that he ran away from home because the monks at the Southern Air Temple wanted to separate him from Gyatso; after getting caught in a terrible storm, he sealed himself and Appa in the iceberg. Meanwhile, on Zuko's ship, Iroh tells the crew that the burns on Zuko's face are the result of an agni-kai with his own father, who had taken offense when Zuko spoke up in a meeting. When a storm hits, Sokka and the fisherman are rescued by Aang and Katara. Aang is forced to enter the Avatar State, mirroring the events that led to him being trapped in the iceberg, but this time he is able to escape with the fisherman, Sokka, and Katara. Zuko also acts heroically when his ship is struck by lightning, rescuing a member of his crew who becomes trapped on the bridge; Iroh uses firebending to redirect lightning away from the ship. Zuko sees Aang flying away on Appa, but elects not to pursue them in order to get his crew to safety.

Doom Patrol Season 2 Extended Trailer Breakdown

Doom Patrol follows the unlikely heroes of the eponymous team who all received their powers through tragic circumstances and are generally shunned by society. Most members of the team were treated by the Chief, a medical doctor who gave them residence in his mansion to help protect them from the outside world. Their name derives from an earlier Doom Patrol team that was formed by the Chief.

The first members of the Doom Patrol to be introduced in the series are Jane, the dominant personality of a traumatized woman with dissociative identity disorder; Rita Farr, who struggles to prevent her body from turning to a gelatinous state; Larry Trainor, who has an entity of negative energy living inside of him; and Cliff Steele, whose brain was placed in a robot body following a car accident. The team is later joined by cybernetically-enhanced superhero Vic Stone.

In the first season, the Chief is captured by the malevolent Mr. Nobody, sending the Doom Patrol on a journey to rescue him. Along the way, they discover secrets about themselves and of the Chief, whom they eventually learn is responsible for the tragic events that gave them their powers.

First season premiered on February 15, 2019 on DC Universe. In July 2019, the series was renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere on June 25, 2020 on both DC Universe and HBO Max.

In 1776, the Avengers fly from the American west towards Egypt, but first make a stopover in Philadelphia to get Hawkeye some medical attention following his injuries in the previous issue.

Since its July of that year, they just barely miss Doctor Strange and Clea hanging out with Benjamin Franklin. They continue on across the Atlantic Ocean and over Europe until they reach the Sphinx in Egypt. They clash briefly with Ottoman soldiers that are amassed there for some reason while Wonder Man sets up the Time Platform, and soon enough they jump back to 2920 BC and are immediately attacked by the Egyptian soldiers there preparing for the Pharaoh's burial rites.

The latest skirmish is ended when the Pharaoh's High Priest, Shamaz, recognizes the Avengers as time travelers and is able to talk to them in English. Shamaz explains that the Pharaoh will be entering suspended animation the next day and that he destroyed his own time machine 17 years earlier. He reluctantly lets them into the pyramid to talk to the Pharaoh, but as Rama-Tut is preparing his mind for suspended animation by entering a trance, he isn't very coherent or helpful. He only mutters that they might find more help during his first reign. Hawkeye is growing increasingly frustrated negotiating their way through in spite of his injuries and starts to collapse from fever. His teammates assure him that they can get through on his behalf and that he should rest. Clint relents and assigns Iron Man as interim chairman just before falling unconscious, which irks Wonder Man who has been competing with Tony for status. They activate the Time Platform once more to jump back to 2940 BC, when they are immediately shot by the then-nefarious Rama-Tut.
In August of 1776, a month after parting ways with the Avengers, Carlotta Valdez is traveling across California with her mission when her coach is attacked by Indians. She joins the battle but gets shot in the back. Before she dies, she makes her chaperone promise to guard the message she took from Hawkeye.
In 1876, Phantom Rider takes Mockingbird back to Lincoln Slade's hometown of Lordsburg to start a new life with her. As she changes into her new local dress, she decides to wear the old arrowhead she found as a necklace, a choice that Slade doesn't know hat to make of since he recognizes the head as something Hawkeye would use. While they settle in, Rawhide Kid and Two-Gun Kid are still on their trail.

And in the present day, Espirita continues to help Hank rekindle his passion for science by having him go over his expertise in robotics, a subject that Hank isn't as eager to get back into. As they head to the lab, they again just barely miss Hawkeye's message peeking out of the pages of Bonita's bible.

Avatar the Last Airbender Book 1 Episodes 1 and 2 Breakdown and Review

Avatar the Last Airbender Book 1

Episode 1 The Boy in the Iceburg

Katara and Sokka, two siblings from the Southern Water Tribe, discover a boy trapped inside an iceberg floating on the sea. They free him and he introduces himself as Aang, an Airbender of the Air Nomads—a culture believed to be extinct for 100 years. Aang and his flying six-legged sky bison, Appa, accompany Katara and Sokka to their village. Meanwhile, Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation, accompanied by his uncle Iroh, is patrolling the surrounding waters in search of the Avatar, a fabled immensely powerful bender who can bend all four elements. Katara confides in Aang that she is a waterbender, but there are no other waterbenders in the Southern Water Tribe to teach her. Aang promises to take her to the Northern Water Tribe to find a teacher. A chance encounter with an abandoned Fire Nation ship reveals that Aang is unaware of the war that the Fire Nation has waged against the other nations of the world for 100 years; from this they deduce that Aang must have been frozen for at least that long. The pair accidentally set off a signal flare on the ship, alerting Zuko, who already suspects the Avatar is nearby.

Episode 2 The Avatar Returns

After bringing Fire Nation attention to the village, Aang is banished, despite Katara's objections. Zuko soon descends on the village and demands the Avatar be surrendered to him. Aang returns to the village to defend it, where he reveals that he is, in fact, the Avatar. He then surrenders himself to Zuko on condition that the villagers are left alone, to which Zuko agrees. Katara and Sokka then decide to pursue Aang on Appa. Aboard Zuko's ship, Aang is at Zuko's mercy, but he eventually manages to break free from the guards and does battle with Zuko in the process. Aang is nearly defeated by Zuko, getting knocked into the water and almost drowning, but he saves himself using waterbending in his "Avatar State", a state in which he taps into all of the bending potential of his past lives from a cycle of reincarnation, allowing him to manifest incredible ability to manipulate the four elements. With the help of Katara and Sokka, Aang escapes from Zuko. As the three ride away on Appa, they set a course for the North Pole so that Aang and Katara can learn waterbending

Hawkeye, Iron Man, Tigra, and Wonder Man end up in the Arizona region of 1776 and Clint is in the midst of panic at Phantom Rider grabbing Mockingbird away at the last second, stranding her 100 years in the future. The others calm him down reminding him that Bobbi can take care of herself and that their best hope is reaching their destination to get a properly functioning time machine and then rescue her without time as an issue. Before they can worry about that, they're ambushed by a cavalry of Spanish soldiers.
During the ensuing battle, Wonder Man pulls a stunt of grabbing a bunch of the soldiers' guns and crushing them in his invulnerable arms, but this causes an explosion that the not-so-invulnerable Hawkeye gets caught up in, injuring him badly.
The Avengers flee to a nearby cave, but not unseen. A Spanish missionary named Carlotta Valdez follows them and offers them medicine, bearing no ill will to them despite the assumption that they represent English spies. Hawkeye starts to recognize Carlotta and her stories as the woman from Firebird's vision, and upon questioning she reveals she has had similar visions of Firebird/Espirita and of people that looked much like the Avengers. Hawkeye doesn't want to tell her everything he knows, particularly about how Firebird's vision suggests she's going to die, but he gets an idea of how to take advantage of meeting with Bonita's ancestor. He breaks off the head of an inkjet arrow to write a message on a shred of cloth: "Bonita -- We are lost in time. Contact FF. Tell them we're trying for Rama-Tut's Egypt. --Hawkeye", and has Carlotta keep the message somewhere safe.

In 1876, as chance would have it in the same cave, Phantom Rider brews a special Comanche herbal potion to administer to the unconscious Mockingbird, so when she awakes, she forgets all about who she was and only knows that she loves the Rider as much as he loves her. Rawhide Kid and Two-Gun Kid are tracking him down to bring him to justice, but now with Mockingbird on his side, Phantom Rider defeats them.
As Slade and Bobbi prepare to head out to a new hiding place, Bobbi trips on the discarded old inkjet arrowhead in the cave and feels something is familiar about it. She decides to keep it as a souvenir.

And back in the present, Espirita gets Hank to work through his depression by having him demonstrate the use of his Pym Particles, which starts to remind him of the stimulation he finds in science.
As they call it a day, they walk by Bonita's family bible, which she brought with her from home on her visit to the WCA compound. As they pass by, they fail to notice the cloth sticking out of the pages with a certain message written in English.
