Episode 8 What I Know

Helped by A-Train, Hughie and Annie leak Stormfront's Nazi past. Learning about Ryan from Becca, Butcher leads the Boys in rescuing him at Homelander's cabin. Butcher reneges on a deal with Edgar to have Vought recapture Ryan and instead attempts saving him and Becca from Stormfront. When Stormfront attacks Becca, Ryan cripples her with his eye lasers, but fails to stop her from killing Becca. Butcher forgives Ryan after Ryan takes his side over Homelander, while Maeve uses the plane footage to force Homelander into releasing them. Afterwards, the Boys are cleared of their charges and Annie is reinstated into the Seven. The Church of the Collective also has A-Train rejoin, but not the Deep which upsets the latter. Ryan is taken by the CIA. Hughie gets a job with Neuman, unaware she is the superpowered assassin responsible for the deaths of Raynor, Vogelbaum and Alastair.

Congresswoman Victoria Neuman schedules a hearing against Vought, with Lamplighter as the chief witness. After Vought uncovers Annie's betrayal, Hughie convinces Lamplighter to join him in a rescue attempt, which results in the latter immolating himself to deactivate her holding cell. Annie escapes with the help of Maeve, who subdues Black Noir. Despite the loss of Lamplighter, Butcher strong-arms Vogelbaum into testifying against Vought. However, the hearing is sabotaged by an assassin who kills Vogelbaum and others in the same manner Raynor was killed. Meanwhile, Homelander and Stormfront manipulate Ryan into leaving Becca. A-Train grows suspicious of the Church of the Collective. Maeve and Elena break up over Maeve failing to save the plane.

Episode 6 The Bloody Doors Off

 

After getting her chip removed, Starlight accompanies The Boys to investigate an asylum under Vought's control. Frenchie, Kimiko and MM infiltrate the asylum, learning that the patients have superpowers and Frenchie recognizes Lamplighter as one of the orderlies. During a confrontation between Lamplighter and the three, one of the patients, Cindy, breaks free and uses her powers to free the others. One of the escapees attacks Butcher, Starlight and Hughie outside the complex, seriously injuring Hughie before Butcher kills him. While hiding from the fugitives, Frenchie confronts Lamplighter, who killed Mallory's grandchildren five years ago, learning that Lamplighter intended to kill Mallory and was unaware of the kids inside. Stormfront arrives and stops the rebellion, but instead of turning in the others, Lamplighter covers for them. While Hughie rests at the hospital accompanied by Butcher and Starlight, Mallory meets with the rest of the team and Lamplighter, who she considers killing as revenge, but Frenchie pleads her to spare him instead so that he can help with their cause. Meanwhile, Homelander confronts Stormfront, who lied about her whereabouts to stop the rebellion, and she reveals herself as a century-old member from the Nazi Party and widow of Frederick Vought, who made her the first successful subject of Compound-V. She asks for his help to lead an army of Supes she is creating to take over the world.

The movie on the formation of the Seven has been rewritten to include Queen Maeve's sexuality and Homelander wants to bring Elena in to the public sphere, but she is uninterested though overruled by Vought. A-Train is unhappy with his portion of the movie, which includes his exit, but becomes complacent. Butcher has trouble accepting his wife's decision to stay in her current situation, and plans to retire, but a challenge from Black Noir brings the team back together. The Deep's marriage is announced as he becomes the public face of the Church of the Collective. Homelander fights one of his own creations, super-terrorists, but kills a bystander by mistake causing a drop in his popularity. He tries to quell the protests against him, and ends up fantasizing mass murder. He approaches Stormfront for support from her meme generator teams and it increases his popularity by 5 points. He and Stormfront end up together, attracted by their mutual invulnerability.

Mallory provides Butcher with information on a superhero known as Liberty and Becca's location. Butcher infiltrates the facility, but Becca refuses to leave because Butcher will not accept Ryan. Black Noir discovers Butcher's infiltration. Threatened by Homelander, Starlight joins Hughie and MM in investigating Liberty. The three learn that Liberty is Stormfront, who committed a racially-charged murder in the 1970s. Starlight leaves Hughie, fearing that they are becoming comfortable with the danger surrounding them. Growing more unstable from Stormfront usurping his popularity, Homelander puts A-Train on medical leave from the Seven, outs Maeve on live television during an interview with Maria Menounos, and kills Doppelganger when he tries to seduce him. Meanwhile, the Church of the Collective enters the Deep into an arranged marriage.
