FELLOW NERDS!!!  The MCU has made a comeback!

Well, hopefully anyway.  Your Fellow Nerds of Not Your Status Quo and the King of Fandos himself, Fatherly Fandom have been, in all truthiness, skeptically looking forward to Echo.  Labeled as a Marvel Spotlight with all episodes dropped at once, the obvious fear was that Echo would follow in the dragging footsteps of the current MCU.  Even with the exciting news of Vincent D'Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin and a cameo from Daredevil played by Charlie Cox, things weren't looking great for Echo.

Will the stellar acting of Alaqua Cox as Echo be enough to save what sounds like a doomed Marvel series?  Watch this live video to find out for yourselves what WE think of Echo.

Echo Series Theory-Palooza

We got some theories about the Echo series in a little video we call TheoryPalooza! 

Echo is an upcoming American television miniseries created by Marion Dayre for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is intended to be the tenth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise and is a spin-off from the series Hawkeye (2021). It sees Maya Lopez return to her hometown where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community. Dayre serves as head writer for the series along with Amy Rardin while Sydney Freeland leads the directing team. The series is also produced by 20th Television.

Alaqua Cox reprises her role as Maya Lopez / Echo from Hawkeye, with Vincent D'Onofrio, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Graham Greene, Cody Lightning, Charlie Cox, Devery Jacobs, and Zahn McClarnon also starring. Development of the spin-off began by March 2021, with Etan and Emily Cohen attached as head writers, and Alaqua Cox confirmed to be returning. The series was formally announced in November 2021, when Dayre was revealed to be serving as head writer, with Freeland set to direct by March 2022. Filming occurred from late April to late August 2022, taking place in the Atlanta metropolitan area including Atlanta, Peachtree City, Social Circle, and Grantville, Georgia. In May, Marvel revealed further cast members and that Catriona McKenzie would also direct for the series.

Echo is scheduled to be released in its entirety simultaneously on Disney+ and Hulu on January 9, 2024, and will consist of five episodes, being Marvel Studios' first television release to debut on Hulu and to receive a TV-MA rating. It will be part of Phase Five of the MCU and the first series under the "Marvel Spotlight" banner.

Star Wars the Bad Batch S2 Episode 14 "Tipping Point" Breakdown and Review

We go in-depth on the Bad Batch episode 14, "Tipping Point" since stroylines are coming together and things are heating up for the Bad Batch. Only two episodes left in season 2 and I think it is going to end with a bang! What do you all think? 

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is an American animated series created by Dave Filoni for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise, acting as both a sequel to, and spin-off from, the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The Bad Batch is produced by Lucasfilm Animation, with Jennifer Corbett as head writer and Brad Rau as supervising director.

Dee Bradley Baker voices the members of the Bad Batch, a squad of elite clone troopers with genetic mutations. He also voices other clones in the series, reprising his role from The Clone Wars. Michelle Ang stars as Omega, a female clone who joins the squad. The series was officially ordered by Disney+ in July 2020 as a spin-off from The Clone Wars, with Filoni, Corbett, and Rau attached.

The first season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered on May 4, 2021, and ran for 16 episodes until August 13. It received positive reviews from critics. A second season, also consisting of 16 episodes, premiered on January 4, 2023 and will conclude on March 29.

We are halfway through this season of Hawkeye on Disney Plus, so far it has been another great MCU show, but we talk about What's Next? Who is Maya's Uncle, is Jack who we think he is and will we see some other MCU characters in the last three episodes?

Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox also star. Marvel Studios was developing a limited series for Disney+ centered on Hawkeye by April 2019, with Renner returning. The series was officially announced that July and Igla joined in September, with Steinfeld unofficially attached at that point. Thomas and Bert & Bertie joined as directors in July 2020 and filming began in New York City that December. Steinfeld and additional cast members were confirmed, and filming concluded in late April 2021. Additional shooting took place in Atlanta, Georgia. Matt Fraction's Hawkeye comic run served as a major influence on the series.

The Bad Batch EP. 6 | NYSQ What's Next

This latest job sees them competing with and eventually working with, the Martez sisters who you may remember, first appeared in the season seven episode of The Clone Wars titled “Gone With a Trace.” Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a spin-off of the amazing series The Clone Wars, which your fellow nerds LOVE. The Bad Batch, using the same CGI-animated style, is set after the events of Revenge of the Sith and charts the missions of a squad of clone troopers who debuted in the final season of The Clone Wars. These mercenaries were all cooked up with genetic mutations, and are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, Ming-Na Wen (as a younger version of Fennec Shand, reprising the character she plays in The Mandalorian), Stephen Stanton and Andrew Kishino.
