Spoilers for Episode 7 ahead!
In 1939, Phineas Horton creates J.I.M. while grieving the death of his son, alienating his wife and daughter. In the present, Vision confronts that legacy when the mysterious Client offers access to his subconscious—but demands his surrender in return.
With Paladin’s help, Vision encounters manifestations of the original Vision, J.I.M., and Horton. His journey leads him to accept his memories as his own and Tommy as his son. J.I.M. also gives him Horton’s original code, allowing Vision to neutralize the nanobot controlling Lisa.
Meanwhile, Jocasta discovers that she needs a forgotten sixth key. As Ultron and F.R.I.D.A.Y. follow her into her memories, she uncovers a connection between Carrington’s former partner and Ultron’s human avatar. That partner is revealed to be the Client, who captures both Vision and Jocasta.
The episode ends with devastating losses: Ultron destroys F.R.I.D.A.Y., Paladin is killed by the Client’s men, and Tommy receives a message from Vision finally acknowledging him as his son.
