The Quinjet lost control at the end of last issue and we find out it is because Hawkeye called the East Coasters about the menace at the South Pole (WCA Annual #3) and they had already heard from Mockingbird. The Vision and Scarlet Witch need to get Tommy and Billy from their grandmother so stop before continuing to help Mantis with her memory loss. Seeing their happy family together brings the feelings of losing his wife to the surface and Hawkeye’s feeling manifest in a sigh

Mantis talked with Hawkeye and uses her empathy to share his grief at the family bliss and the plans he had with Bobbi. Tigra, Moon Knight, Mockingbird and Goliath land in New York after the events of WCA Annual #3 and decide not to go help the East Coasters since Hawkeye and his team surely will help… Goliath leaves to seek out Hank Pym for help and leaves the three former Avengers

As he leaves the Phantom Rider shows up to harass Mockingbird, Stuns Tigra and when he knocks out Moon Knight, Khonshu enters the fight, the Phantom Rider wants no part of a god and takes off

The Scarlet Witch feels an intense burst of evil in Newark and knows that something is wrong (to be continued later) The West Coasters are with Mantis in the condo where she awoke with no memories when the doorbell rings. It is only the mailman with CDs, he seems to recognize her as Mrs. Celestine. With the condo being a dead end, they head the Vietnamese Temple where Mantis grew up.

They head to the Swordsman’s grave spot while explaining what happened to Simon when the Swordsman rising from the grave aglow like when the Cotati animated his form

He offers to return her memories and attacks! The Avengers try to subdue him, but Swordsman fights them off and leads Mantis to the sacred grove of the Cotati where he impales her with his sword. And Mantis’ lifeforce returns to her body that was left on Earth all those years ago. The Swordsman knew that killing the simulacrum so close to her actual body would restore her. The Swordsman leaves his sword with Hawkeye, Hawkeye offers Mantis a place with the West Coast Avengers but she declines to stay at the Vietnamese Temple for now.
